Another (EMPIRIAE) Network for Leaders workshop was organised in Jasło and Krosno on 2 and 3 March; the Network’s operational mission includes themes of broadly defined local government-related development.

The Experience Exchange Network is centred around the concept of joint meetings of presidents and mayors, in the course of which municipal authorities share knowledge, good practices, experience and ideas regarding the use of opportunities and overcoming of challenges focal to delivering Local Development Plans and Institutional Development Plans.

This time, mayors and presidents of cities and towns implementing the “Local Development” Programme referenced projects in delivery, their progress, and related challenges. Participants attended a “Value-based Team Management” workshop delivered by Aleksandra Kowalska, strategic advisor at the Association of Polish Cities. Value-based management is a tool allowing a new governance quality to be implemented in the organisation, one based on shared responsibility, enhanced motivation, and engaging all employees (their position notwithstanding) in the process of delivering institutional goals.

During the visit, local government representatives were also offered an opportunity to explore urban investments and initiatives realised in Jasło and Krosno.

Representatives of the following cities and towns attended the Leaders Network meeting in March: Jasło, Krosno, Hrubieszów, Konin, Jarosław, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Nisko, Żywiec, Zawiercie and Cieszyn.
